Arsenal morning headlines as Aubameyang's new role outlined, former star on Ozil confusion

Here are your Arsenal headlines for the morning of Thursday, October 29.

Arsenal boss could use Aubameyang through middle

Mikel Arteta could use Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a role through the middle in an effort to get the Arsenal striker firing again.

The 31-year-old scored the majority of his 23 league goals last season from a position on the left of the Arsenal attack, but has found the net just once in his last six games, leading some fans to suggest he could be used as a centre forward.

“Yes, that's a very possible thing,” said Arteta, who also has Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah to use in this role.

“It will depend on the games, it will depend on who he’s surrounded with. I think it’s very important to see who is around him and why we’re doing it.

“Not just the fact we’re doing it, why we’re doing that and what we’re going to get by doing these positive things. Of course, there’s a very strong possibility to play him as a [number] nine.”
