Kai Havertz epitomises the attitude Frank Lampard wants from Chelsea's attack

The German was the real star in 4-0 win over Krasnodar

On an evening in which the headlines were mostly reserved for Hakim Ziyech, perhaps the most satisfying element for Frank Lampard in Krasnodar was how Chelsea's attack spread the love around.

With so many outstanding questions about finding the right balance, formation and personnel within that system, to see six different players contribute to a goal will provide the head coach with another "nice problem".

That has become one of Lampard's catchphrases of late, a succinct way to say that there is so much depth it is not always easy to settle on a best XI.

Seeing Kai Havertz create more chances than anyone on the pitch (and win more aerial duels) will be pleasing following a couple of tough outings and the German's smooth turn and pass to set up Callum Hudson-Odoi for the opener was a delightful piece of play.

It was a performance that epitomises what Lampard wants from his attackers - an all-round effort with clear contributions out of possession combined with end product with the ball at his feet.

Hudson-Odoi's confidence will be boosted by that goal, while Christian Pulisic's incisive cameo - winning the penalty converted by Timo Werner before finding the net himself - was a reminder of his ability after a sluggish return following injury.
